Nestled in the heart of the “Golden Triangle” of North Yorkshire, I now call the charming city of Ripon my home. Renowned for its exceptional quality of life, Ripon boasts historical charm, lush green spaces, and a strong sense of community. It’s a place that perfectly marries rural tranquillity with urban conveniences.

I share this idyllic locale with my wife, Iris, and our two cherished pets, Pixi, the mighty Chihuahua, and Alf, a standard wire-haired Dachshund. My eldest daughter, Melanie, and youngest son, Steve, also enjoy the benefits of living in Ripon, while my eldest son, Mike, resides in Austria.

When I’m not immersed in the world of recruitment, you can often find me on the golf course, persistently working towards lowering my handicap – a goal that remains a work in progress! My musical preferences span across genres, from progressive rock to electronic and classical music. Bands like Anathema, Chvrches, Gazpacho, Rush, Pink Floyd, and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) are among my favourites.

Having recently enjoyed the historical coast of Split, Croatia, and the sun-drenched ruins of Cyprus, my travel focus is on cultural exploration and the freedom of the road. I frequently explore diverse countries, always keen to sample the local cuisine. Next up is a different kind of road trip: touring the Rockies in an RV. And yes, my slightly rusty German language skills invariably prove useful during these adventures!”
